Blessed Beyond Belief!

Life has been just a tad bit crazy. It’s always busy, but with the baby almost here, “busy” has taken on an entire new meaning. Maybe it’s because I am exhausted beyond belief 24/7, but still have to get everything at work done on time, go to every church and youth event and still leave some time to get the house in order and the nursery put together??? Oh and then there’s spending time with Seth… which we have actually been good about fitting into the schedule. I think we’re so busy we know that date night is one of the only excuses we have to just escape for a bit. Here in the next week or so I plan to slow down, but there’s still a few more things to get off of the “to-do” list before I let myself crash until April 17. Oh yes, April 17 is my new due date! Basically because my family lives in Texas, my doctor and I have scheduled an induce day already, just so my family at least has a fair shot of being up here when he’s born.I think I've got about 7 weeks left. If that! =) (several seem to think I won't last that long)

Here is basically the finished product of both showers. It’s totally insane how much stuff we got, but it was all stuff that we need or will need eventually, so we consider ourselves so incredibly blessed to have such amazing friends and families. I am currently still in the process of decorating the nursery so the walls are bare. (Not that I could get to them anyways) And I’m also re-decorating our master bedroom that we just did a little mini-remodel on. Neither rooms are ready for their big reveal, but here is a glimpse of the nursery.

Believe it or not, it's actually semi-organized.

(The pack and play bassinet will go in our room for the first few weeks.)

I LOVE our swing... I just hope Kai loves it.

The bed and comforter.
(since this picture we have got a couple more items in the mail as gifts that match his bedding)

STUFF! Where do I put it all?!?!
(I'm actually going to Wal-mart in about 5 minutes to get some organization bins and drawers!)

Oh, and those are not even HALF of the clothes... maybe not even a fourth. It's crazy. He'll be the trendiest little baby around... that's fo sho'!

We have been so blessed, and can't thank everyone enough!

A very tired, but happy me, headed into my 8th month!

Illinois Baby Shower

I don’t have all of the pictures gathered up from all of the different camera floating around the Illinois baby shower, so there might be some better ones that I’ll post later. These are all that I have so far. When I woke up the morning of the shower, I looked out the window and it was snowing like crazy! It kept snowing until about 30 minutes into the shower. It was enough to cover everything, but it didn’t make the streets bad, so I was very thankful for that!

The morning of the shower

How freakin' cute are these guys?!?!

Cake!

I figured I'd post at least one action shot...

Mr. Photogenic

Before comparing these to any of our baby pictures we all swore he resembled Seth. He definitely has his nose, but when we compared them to my new born pictures, the similarities are crazy! So, who knows?! I'm glad he cooperated and let us get some good pictures!

25 Random things

I got tagged on another friend's blog AND on Facebook... so here it is.

If you have a blog and you are reading this, consider yourself tagged! Just let me know when you re-post it on yours! =)

Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged.

1. I tend to handle “change” very well, and sometimes I even love it. From the big life changes, to the color of my(our) bedroom, or my outfit for the day. But at the same time, I struggle really hard with not letting living in a new and such a different place change who I really am.

2. I was in speech therapy for many years as a young child. I had a horrible speech impediment. No one but my mother could understand what I was saying. Now I speak and sing in front of hundreds of people on a regular basis.

3. I love a good sandwich more than anything. As well as raw veggies (which I am snacking on right now) and cleverly put together salads. However, I also love chocolate, breakfast from McDonalds and french fries… so it all balances out… or at least I like to think so.

4. I eat so much ketchup that my tongue is constantly raw. (but it still doesn't stop french fries and ketchup from being one of my favorite foods)

5. When I was in 4th grade I, along with some friends and my sister, was playing kickball in the house with a balloon. I tripped over the balloon while running to "first" (which was the piano bench) and broke my arm. The entire event turned into the ER story from hell.

6. I love that I am still friends with friends that I was in preschool with.

7. On my first birthday I almost choked to death on a penny. I was rescued just in time by someone who is still one of my most favorite people in the world (along with his wife and kids)… and not just because he saved my life. =)

8. I have more love, respect and loyalty for my husband, my dad, my mom, my sisters and my grandmother than anyone could ever measure or comprehend in this lifetime. Me and my husband BOTH being in full-time ministry together in such an amazingly perfect setting is one of the biggest blessings I could have ever asked for.

9. I severely sprained both ankles within 3 months of each other last summer. Both times required crutches and no high heels for months.

10. I think I am one of the only Americans who doesn't like strawberries. I've tried time and time again, but to no avail. I Love strawberry flavoring, but can't eat them raw.

11. I am quite accident prone and I tend to get sick more than the average person. (See #5, 7 and 9… and that’s not even scratching the surface)

12. I am quite possibly the world's WORST over-packer. It's very serious condition that I think I need professional help with.

13. I majored in Fashion Merchandising and Design in college, and now live in a city that wouldn’t know a Jimmy Choo from payless. Not letting my love for fashion die has been a challenge since moving here.

14. I am about to complete an entire pregnancy without ever having to
breakout any maternity clothes!

15. I am (and always have been) horrible about washing my face at night. I’ve always had a very clear complexion… that is until I moved to Illinois where there are real winters. Beach air and humidity did wonders for my skin type and just never really had the need. Now, at the age of 25, I am just now having to get into the habit of washing and nurturing my face. It’s horrible. I know.

16. About ten years ago, I started having severe allergic reactions to sun burn. Yes, you can be allergic to sun burn, and it is excruciating. To avoid getting sunburn I go to the tanning bed, starting in the spring, at 5 minutes a session to get a base going (go ahead, laugh) and I wear the highest possible SPF you can find. It’s actually quite comical for a girl that grew up on the beach. =)

17. I have the uncanny ability to shut down my emotions. It’s not necessarily a good thing.

18. I can count on one hand the amount of times my mom cooked when I was growing up. We ate out for every meal. Literally. Thankfully we lived in a big city and the options were endless. Also, the private schools that I went to all had lunches catered in by chain restaurants, so home cooking is definitely a new thing to me.

19. I am drawn to and allured by anything with bright colors and bold patterns.

20. I will be getting a breast reduction after we have our last child.

21. I HATE to be tickled. I will kick you and punch you and convulse violently to avoid it, and if you break through that barrier and actually can tickle me, I will be VERY angry with you for days, maybe weeks. =)

22. I don’t like to work out, but I love the feeling that I get when I do.

23. I probably love presents more than anyone really should. I LOOOOVE them. Like REALLY LOOOOOOOVE them.

24. I am so incredibly excited about being a mom. I think I was born for this.

25. I have an impeccable memory.

And one to grow on….I am a very private person so I consider posting 25 random things about myself an accomplishment. =)
